Inspirations from Clerkenwell Design Week

Posted by Lighting Design International on 28 May 2014

Clerkenwell Design Week has just finished its 5th year and was as inspiring as ever. Around 250 different UK and international brands and companies came together with various pop-up exhibitions and creative installations that appeared over the area, along with a large number of creative showrooms which opened their doors to the public. One of the highlights was the installation produced by the collaboration of Jaguar UK and Foscarini, which filled the Design Factory’s unique atrium.

The ‘Tuareg’ lamp by Foscarini, normally seen as a floor standing lamp as below, was suspended in multiple numbers intertwining with each other and seemingly flowing downwards towards the Jaguar beneath.

Also in the Design Factory Exhibition spaced amongst the furniture and product design pieces, I found a few additional lighting creations.

As well as the showrooms and exhibitions, various talks ran over the three days discussing products and industry issues.

If you are interested in visiting next year or wish to see more information about what was going on over the last week, please follow the link below to the Clerkenwell Design Week website.
