We are looking for an Experienced/Assistant Lighting Designer to join our team! 


Continued expansion dictates that we are currently recruiting for an experienced Lighting Designer Ideally, candidates will have 1-3 years’ relevant experience with an independent lighting design consultancy. Candidates will need to have excellent design, project management and presentation skills. Experience of high-end residential and five star hotel projects would be preferable.

Our design team in London consists of a 15-strong team of experienced and enthusiastic lighting designers from a range of backgrounds.

The role is for Lighting Designer with responsibility for day-to-day design tasks and project management work on a diverse range of projects, including lighting calculations, selection of luminaires, preparation of lighting layouts, specifications, presentation visuals and design reports etc.

The successful candidate will be in regular contact with other members of the whole design team. There will also be regular contact with clients and manufacturers etc. They will also be expected to attend and participate in weekly team meetings and design reviews.

The successful candidate will report on a day-to-day basis to a Team Leader and will be responsible for assisting in project managing lighting design projects and the work of design assistants in the team.

The post requires:

 

  • Typically 1-3 years’ relevant experience post qualification
  • Hands on lighting design for a range of projects
  • Knowledge of luminaire wiring and driver specifications
  • Good knowledge of compliance and lighting design specifications
  • Good knowledge of control systems
  • Ability to build and understand lighting calculations
  • Preparation of presentation photoshop renderings
  • Preparation of drawings and specification
  • Briefing CAD staff to produce CAD drawings
  • Project and team administration duties
  • Producing project related correspondence and reports
  • Co-ordinating work with designers and engineers of other disciplines
