In the main lobby, the planning authority and English Heritage would not allow recessed downlights to be used in the listed ceiling, so in order to achieve the effect we required, recessed darklight downlights were incorporated into high-level custom pendants. The pendant shade and the downlighters are controlled on separate channels.
