Chris Lewis is one of the original members of the Lighting Design International team. Having studied Furniture and Product Design at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, Chris began his career in 1983 as a product and residential lighting designer before working alongside Sally in the formation of Lighting Design International in 1986. This saw the emergence of an independent lighting design consultancy specialising in commercial projects, such as office developments, museums and hotels, as well as substantial residential projects and super yachts.
Chris has been an important part of the design team, heading up many diverse and prestigious projects throughout the world. As the Principal Designer, Chris leads a team of designers working on some of the most prestigious projects, including One Aldwych Hotel in London, the award-winning restaurant Fera at Claridge's, the exclusive private members club Fifty Club, on St James's Street in London and Lumiere, one of Paris's largest office developments - all award winning projects. Chris has also design schemes for famous landmarks including The Savoy in London and the spiritual home of cricket, Lords. With a hands on approach, Chris is currently involved in numerous high profile hotels including and super yacht projects around the world. Recently completed projects include The Lanesborough Spa, St Regis Rome and the super yacht Aquila.
Chris is a member of the IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers) and is a leading figure in the industry.
