The Connaught

Location: London
Designer: Champagne Bar - Oliver Laws

                     Moon Garden - Tom Stuart-Smith

Our most recent work for the Connaught was adapting an outside cigar bar into a decadent destination Champagne bar. On entering through the velvet curtains, the eye is drawn to the feature bronze bar - the jewel of the space. Concealed linear LEDs, carefully tested and selected for their ability to enhance and warm colour of the drinks display, create a welcoming feature, giving life to the whisky and extensive crystal glass display.

Ambient perimeter lighting is punctuated by "candle" niches concealing small LED luminaires behind decorative glass shades. This soft candle adds the finishing touch to this magically intimate space.

The bar is approached via a corridor at the end of which sits the "Moon Garden" by the landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith. This minimalist landscape has been carefully crafted to draw the guest into the scene through the star-lit water feature to the softly uplit cast brass Ilex crenata tree and shimmering moon beyond.
